Nicolai Steinø

Nicolai Steinø holds an MA in architecture, a PhD in urban design from Aarhus School of Architecture, Denmark. He has practiced architecture in Denmark and Germany. He has been an instructor at Hochschule der Künste, Berlin, and at Aarhus School of Architecture, a visiting scholar to Columbia University, New York, and a guest professor at Middle East Technical University, Ankara; Escola Tecnica Superior d’Arquitectura de Barcelona; l’Ecole Nationale d’Architecture, Rabat; Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok; and Istanbul Technical University.
He was the head of the Aalborg University Architecture and Design Program in 2008-10, where he is currently a MSc thesis coordinator and teaches urban design and form-making. His current research includes parametric urban design, form-making and design theory. He is a representative to the Danish Architects’ Association and was chairman of the editorial board of the Danish professional journal Arkitekten 2009-11. He is a board member of Aalborg University Press, a recurrent member of PhD and scientific committees and was an invitee to the 2009 BraunPrize Forum.
Together with Mine Özkar (ITU, Istanbul) he edited the book Shaping Design Teaching (Aalborg University Press, 2012).

Miray Baş studied architecture in ITU. She received master of architecture degree from METU and presently writes her Phd thesis at ITU. Since 2009, she has been working as a research assistant in Gebze Institute of Technology. Her research area includes computational design, participatory design and urban regeneration.
